Site: Sports Blast 19220 Hwy. 280 East - Birmingham, AL 35242

Team GA will be sending teams in all divisions to the Dixie Duals, all wrestlers and coaches are encouraged to participate, especially coaches and wrestlers from previous years. The South East Region of states (Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, and Kentucky) has already committed to send teams, as well as some of the Northeastern and mid-western states have expressed interest.

For those who have not participated in the past, this is a Dual format tournament, like high school. There will be teams put together in the age groups listed below. The team will wrestle teams from other states in a dual format. Any and all wrestlers are invited to participate, everyone is welcome.

Team GA is looking for multiple coaches in each age division to coach the teams, help organize the wrestle offs, be the point person for picking up uniforms. These coaches must have a USA coach\'s card and have passed a USA Wrestling back ground check. A Coaches supplement will be provided to the assigned Team Coaches to help reduce the Coaches cost.

Once a team in any age division has been filled, if there is enough interest to fill another team, one will be formed. Team GA sent 11 teams in 5 divisions last year with over 150 GA wrestlers competing.

Team Georgia will be covering the Team registration fee and help supplement the cost of the uniforms. Wrestlers will be responsible for their own transportation to the event and meals and lodging while they are there. Team GA will pre-reserve a block of rooms at a discounted rate.

Team Ga hits new target goals!!

Last Saturday, there were 1,526 kids wrestling in 5 USA tournaments and an average of 305 kids per event. Each event as a fundraiser made approximately $6,000 for the host club or school. Tour of Georgia has been a hit with the kids, was just one of the tournaments last weekend and not the largest.

Team GA USA Wrestling is growing wrestling in GA by having a record number of new wrestling clubs open just this year as well as record numbers of members.

So far this year, Team GA USA Tournaments have helped clubs and schools raise approximately $200,000 dollars with these events. By the end of the season, that total will be around $400,000 to all GA clubs and schools that hosted USA events. Team GA is proud that we can provide a means that is directly contributing this kind of financial support to wrestling communities all over GA.

GA wrestling is getting national attention by all of GA's efforts to bring national tournaments here, take winning wrestlers to national events, a record number of GA wrestlers in college programs, and now, Collins Hill is #10 in the national rankings!! Thanks to all of you, GA's wrestlers, coaches, parents, and volunteers to put GA wrestling on the map!!
